The first painting I did of a tarantula or ‘T’, as people in the hobby call them, was the brachypelma smithi, or Mexican Red Knee Tarantula. After that, I loved creating the shimmering, detailed paintings with their tarantula stories, which are written as if the Ts themselves did it.
