Description
After a class with color master Alex Hilkurtz, this is the first painting I did of a building without a ruler, and as loose as I could get at the time! I will be doing subsequent architecture paintings, using Alex’s techniques of a minimal sketch, light, minimal color built up, and an awareness of sunlight. I am also a fan of one of his influences: 1800s French painter Felix Ziem. Beautiful colors!
This pieces is acrylic wash on acid-free 9×12 paper and is unframed.
