Description
Ok, it’s not a ship, it’s a sailboat. But after experimenting with doing an abstract, there’s no way I could help throwing in a sailboat from the shots I took in Annapolis, MD. There are so many ways sailboats can be rendered. I love sitting out on the boat, sailing around the Chesapeake, wondering how many crabs below me are smiling up at me…or running.
This piece is ephemera (newspaper, antique documents, foreign currency and music) on nested board (dimensional birch panel, with a wood frame on the back) with acrylic. Some of the acrylics are opalescent and catch the light with a shimmer. The ridges under the painting are from the ephemera and add to its textural appeal.
All pieces are unframed unless otherwise noted.
