Description
The Antilles Pink Toe Tarantula is 8 x 10 x .75 is acrylic and ephemera with embellishments on a birch panel with nested pine strips.
This spider’s proper name is Avicularia Versicolor, and is also known as the Martinique Red Tree Spider, and the Martinique Pink toe. This bright colored arboreal ‘old world’ spider spins funnel webs, where she hangs out most of the time. She is blue when she is a baby, then, as she grows, her carapace (above her abdomen) turns green.
